Day 01, Thimphu - Arrival and local sightseeing: After your arrival in Bhutan, you will proceed to transfer to the hotel and check in. Spend some time relaxing at the hotel, after which you will head out for local sightseeing. Today, you will be visiting the Memorial Chorten and the National Library. Memorial Chorten is a dzong which is built in Tiben-style of architecture. It stands majestic, with intricate statues, mandalas and also a shrine. Your second stop is the National Library, where you can get an admirable insight into the rich culture and history of Bhutan. Return to the hotel after an exciting day and spend a peacefulnight. Note: Distance from Paro Airport to Thimphu: 48 km Travel time: 1 hour (approximately)
Day 02, Thimphu - Enchanting local sightseeing: Savour a scrumptious breakfast and proceed for an exciting day of sightseeing Thimphu. pay a visit to the Tashichho Dzong, a Buddhist monastery and a majestic fortress, which is also the seat of the government. Your second stop is the Buddha Point. Located atop a hill, this place has one of the largest statues of the Buddha in the world. Spend some peaceful time here before you proceed to the Bhutan Textile Museum. It is also called the National Textile Museum and was established in 2001. After a great day of sightseeing in Thimphu, return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 03, Thimphu - Punakha via Dochula (75 km/3 hours 15 minutes): You will proceed for a drive to Punakha this morning. En route, you will be stopping in Hongtsho Village at the immigration check point to stamp in your permit. Post that, continue the drive. At the top of the Dochula Pass, you can see colourful prayer flags all around. Stop at Lamperi to visit the Royal Botanical Park for around 30 minutes. Later, descend to Punakha and make a stop en route for taking a stroll in the villages. You will then visit the Buddhist monastery of Chimi Lhakhang. In the afternoon, you will visit the Punakha Dzong. This is one of the most beautiful monasteries in Bhutan and also the administrative centre of the Punakha District. Later, go shopping for souvenirs and then return to the hotel in Punakha for a pleasant overnight stay.
Day 04, Punakha - Paro via Simtokha Dzong (125 km/ 4 hours 15 minutes): Have a filling breakfast and then proceed to Paro. You will visit the Simtokha Dzong en route. This dzong is quite ancient and it is said that it was built to ward off evil spirits in the region. In the afternoon, visit the Ta Dzong back in Paro. This dzong was originally built as a watchtower in the 17th century and was later renovated to house the National Museum of Bhutan. Later, you will walk along a hillside trail through a bridge called the Nemi Zam and proceed to visit the Rinpung Dzong, which was built in the 17th century by the first spiritual leader of Bhutan. After sightseeing, return to your hotel and retire for the night.
Day 05, Paro - A remarkable trek to Tiger's Nest: Today, you will go on an exciting trek to the Tiger's nest, which is also known as Paro Taktsang. It is breathtakingly nestled on a steep cliff and you can get spectacular views of the Rhododendron forests from here. Wake up to a beautiful morning and gorge on a delicious breakfast. The ascent to the monastery is quite easy and can be completed in 2 hours (3, if you are a beginner). After the exciting trek, return to the hotel and sit back and relax. Note: Clicking pictures is not allowed inside the monastery.
Day 06, Paro - The trip culminates: Your trip to Bhutan ends today. Relish a scrumptious breakfast and then check out from the hotel. Transfer to the Paro Airport to board your return flight after making wonderful memories in Bhutan.
